A Comparison of Wave Spectra during Pre-Monsoon and Post-Monsoon Tropical Cyclones under an Intense Positive IOD Year 2019

چکیده
The impact of Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) events on the generation and intensity tropical cyclones under influence monsoons is explored. standardized sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies are computed for pre-monsoon post-monsoon months Bay Bengal (BOB) Arabian Sea (AS) from 1971 to 2020 relationships analyzed with frequency neutral, positive negative IOD years. states sensitive cyclonic conditions exhibiting a complex spectral distribution wave energy. The temporal variation of organic carbon during the pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons in Pahang River-estuary, Pahang, Malaysia
The percentage of organic carbon contents of 62 bottom sediments in Pahang riverestuary were analyzed using the wet dichromate oxidation method. The sediments particle sizes at the same stations were also measured using the dry sieving and laser diffraction methods. In this study, the concentrations of organic carbon are relatively higher during pre-monsoon season and become much lower during t...
متن کاملWhat Percentage of Western North Pacific Tropical Cyclones Form within the Monsoon Trough?
It is frequently stated that 70%–80% of western North Pacific tropical cyclones form ‘‘within the monsoon trough,’’ but without an objective definition of the term. Several definitions are tested here. When the monsoon trough (MT) is defined as the contiguous region where long-term (1988–2010) mean July– November 850-hPa relative vorticity is positive, 73% of all July–November tropical cyclones...
متن کاملPre-Monsoon Rain and Its Relationship with Monsoon Onset over the Indochina Peninsula
We analyzed rainfall during the pre-monsoon season from 1979 to 2002 over the Indochina Peninsula. Our multi-year analysis confirmed that the passage of the upper trough and moisture convergence in the lower troposphere produce intermittent rainfall events during the pre-monsoon season. From this result, three questions are raised. First, what are the characteristics of the upper trough? Second...
متن کاملHow can aerosols affect the Asian summer monsoon? Assessment during three consecutive pre-monsoon seasons from CALIPSO satellite data
The impact of aerosols above and around the Tibetan Plateau on the Asian Summer Monsoon during premonsoon seasons March-April-May 2007, 2008, and 2009 is investigated by means of remote sensing and radiative transfer modelling. Four source regions are found to be responsible for the high aerosol loading around the Tibetan Plateau: the Taklamakan Desert, the Ganges Plains, the Indus Plains, and ...
